Randy’s work at The Walt Disney Company exemplifies his ability to transform legacy systems into modern, scalable platforms while building high-performing technical teams. As Principal Technical Architect, he led a team of engineers in the complete modernization of Disney’s My Magic+ MagicBand platform serving all IoT devices across Walt Disney World, processing hundreds of millions of daily guest interactions while reducing infrastructure costs by 90% and improving system performance by 70%. Randy provided effective team leadership by mentoring and training team members on cloud-based technologies and emerging AI platforms, resulting in successful adoption of new technologies across the organization and a 15% reduction in system downtime. The platform’s sophisticated time-series forecasting improved wait times in attraction queues and reduced crowding hot spots, while computer vision models deployed at the edge detected emerging hot spots and provided real-time queue safety notifications to cast members.
Prior to his cloud platform work, Randy spent seven years at Paltronics architecting high-frequency transaction processing systems for the gaming industry, building platforms that handled thousands of transactions per second across thousands of connected casino devices.
